Renaissance Harbour View Hotel Hong Kong
The Hong Kong Fair was held at the Renaissance Harbour View Hotel Hong Kong from Tuesday 26 to Friday 29 February, and brought together 14 accredited UK English language centres and 34 study abroad agents and educational consultants from key markets in the Asia Pacific region, including China, Korea, Japan, Thailand, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Taiwan and Indonesia. The workshop was jointly organised by the British Council, English UK, UK Trade & Investment and VisitBritain.
Participants enjoyed a programme of seminars, one-to-one appointment sessions and networking opportunities. Seminars included presentations by UKvisas, the British Council, UK Trade & Investment and TVET UK. An optional harbour night cruise and excursion to Happy Valley Racecourse was also arranged.
Representatives from 6 regional British Council offices - Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Seoul, Taipei and Bangkok - were available to meet agents and educators in one-to-one appointments on Day 2, and also attended the reception and networking events.
Educators praised the quality of the agents and the concept of the event - 'small is beautiful'. One delegate commented, 'the fair was conceptually very good for me ... it turned out to be exactly what I wanted.'
Agents commended the hospitality and the wide range of accredited UK English language centres in attendance - 'it was a great time for me and I found some new schools with interesting courses'.
